We are thinking about buying a Watts Bar Lake lot and

I don't know very much about Watts Bar Lake. Could you tell
me about it?
No problem. Watts Bar Lake is the Granddaddy of the "Great Lakes
of the South" and is rapidly becoming the most popular vacation
lake in east Tennessee. Watts Bar Lake has always been known for fishing,
but now there are great places to stay on the lake (TLC) and numerous
marinas and good restaurants. It is appreciated for its 780 miles of
gently sloping shoreline and hundreds of coves and islands with sandy
beaches to explore. All water sports are available and rare birds like
osprey and bald eagles are commonplace. Its beautiful naturally green
water stretches 2 ½ to 3 miles across in places, providing hours and
hours of enjoyment. Watts Bar Lake is an easy drive and equal distance
to Knoxville, Chattanooga, and the Smokies. TVA controls the lake level
that drops only four or five feet in November and returns to summer
pool in April. Watts Bar Lake is too big to ever get really crowded
so you might get lost but you will never run out of lake to explore.

Are all of your Tennessee lake rentals the same except for size?
No. Each lakefront cabin and cottage is privately owned having its own
personality, amenities, and location on Watts Bar Lake. All cottages
/ cabins meet or exceed TLC standards for
quality lodging, meaning that they are all very clean, air conditioned,
well equipped, and above average Tennessee lake rentals.

What do I need to bring with me that you do not supply?
Not much. Tennessee Lakefront Cottages believes vacations should be
fun and carefree, so TLC pampers you by providing most of your needs.
TLC supplies bedding, bath towels, soap and paper products, trash bags,
trash pick-up, and housekeeping after you leave. You bring your clothes,
food, beverages, and favorite beach towel. And don't forget your smile!
You will be using it a lot!

I have a boat that I would like to bring with me. Is there a
docking facility?
ABSOLUTELY! All cabins / cottages are different but all are directly
on Watts Bar Lake and include their own private dock at no extra charge.
Public boat ramps and marinas are near each cabin rental and you can
store your boat trailer at the cottage in most cases.

I don't have a boat but would like to have one while I'm staying
on Watts Bar Lake. Is there someplace close I could go to rent one?
Yes! There are several marinas on Watts Bar Lake, Tennessee that rent
pontoon boats, ski boats, deck boats, bass boats, houseboats and jet
skis. When you make your reservation, ask TLC for the nearest marina
to your cottage / cabin rental.

How do I make reservations?
Easy! Call the office at 1-800-597-1952 or 423-334-3377 (local) between
the hours of 9 and 6 Eastern time. TLC requires 50% of the total charges
in advance to hold a reservation. We accept cash (in person at the office),
Money Orders and Checks drawn on U.S. banks. We allow one week from
the day you make your reservation via phone to receive your deposit
to TLC mailed to: 1800 Indian Shadows Drive, Ten Mile, TN 37880. During this
waiting period, your reservation is secured by a major credit card until
your payment arrives. Your credit card will not be charged however.
TLC has the right to accept another reservation for the same time period
if payment is not received within 7 days of a reservation.
The reservation form is used initially to get information and find out
availability. We will answer your questions quickly via email or phone.

What if my plans change and I cannot make my reservations?
We try to be fair to everyone. If your plans change, notify Tennessee
Lakefront Cottages immediately. We can apply 90% credit to another reservation
if a four-week notice is given. Otherwise, your deposit is forfeited
because others have been turned away for you. This credit expires after
one year.

Last year, I made reservations well in advance with another company
at another lake. When I arrived, I did not get the cabin I requested.
Can you assure me that this won't happen at TLC?
Frankly, this situation has never come up at TLC. We want everyone
to be happy! All of the TLC lake homes are privately owned. Homeowners
are very aware that reservations must be honored. Unless some unforeseen
very unusual circumstance should arise that is out of our control, you
can be assured that you will stay at the specific cottage that you have
requested. If this situation were ever to happen, TLC promises that
you would stay at an equal or better cottage than the one you had requested
OR you could opt for a complete refund.

When is TLC open?
Our Watts Bar Lake cabins and cottages are available March 1st through
October 31st and other times by special arrangement. Office hours are
9 - 6 daily. Check-in is 3 P.M. or later. Special arrangements must
be made for late arrivals. Check-out is by 11 A.M. Tennessee Lakefront
Cottages is open year round to accept reservations via email and phone.

What is there to do at night besides catch fireflies and fish?
What about during the day?
Very funny! We do admit to being off the beaten path a little bit. Frankly,
that's the whole idea. Still, several marinas on the lake provide live
entertainment, karaoke, and dancing. They are Euchee Marina, Terrace
View Marina, and The Landing. There may be more. Also, every Friday
night year-round, there is FREE live Bluegrass music (donations gladly
accepted) in Rockwood at the Peterman Building sponsored by Yonder Hollow
Productions. The musicians are local, very talented and authentic! Don't

What do you charge for just one night?
Most TLC vacation homes require a 3-night minimum stay in-season. Some
only require 2 nights. Rates vary depending upon the number in your
party, the lakefront home you select, time of year, and holidays. Rates
are generally listed on each specific Tennessee lake cabin or cottage
page.
