My family and I recently spent a week at Oak Point. We could not have asked for a better experience. The setting and the house was just perfect for our group. The house had everything you could possibly need. The only problem that we had was gas for the grill and Jenny Lynn delivered it immediately. This is our new favorite summer vacation spot and we will definitely be back for it was a picture perfect week!!
So glad you enjoied it! Would love yo have ya'll back ever year!!
The house was well equipped and had ample room for our party of 13 (8 adults 5 kids). One of the bedrooms is in the garage but also has a full bathroom. I didn’t really see it as a negative. The outdoor space is where this property really shines. The front deck has panoramic views of the lake leading to a huge front yard where the kids can run. There is a breezeway in between the house and the garage which offers a nice seating area. We found it to be a good place to play games in the evening. But I think most of our time was spent on the dock. It has a fabulous covered seating area. Stairs leading into about 3 ft deep water with a sandy bottom. Tons of small fish for the kids to catch. We couldn’t have been happier with our stay.
My family and friends stayed here for a week and absolutely loved it! The home is a bit dated, but comfortable and clean. The kitchen was stocked with everything one might need and having the extra fridge in the garage was an added benefit that we took advantage of with our group. The propane grill worked well and was close to back door. Our favorite spot was the deck which is outfitted with a fan, swing and table and chairs. The best part about the deck is that it is accessible and not too steep or too many stairs something that was important for our 82 yr old mom! Many fond memories were created there. The owner provides a canoe and paddleboat both of which we used and were in great shape with life jackets. We enjoyed use of the fire ring--but you need to bring your own wood and there was no place near by to purchase firewood. Unfortunately, we were not able to get the owner's boat (a repair issue) as promised/contracted, but we were fortunately able to find one at the last minute (which was tough to do) to rent through Terrace View Marina across from the lake. So all was not lost. The only downside was having to take your trash so far away--20 minutes one way and then to get there and they were closed! Wish someone would have told us this! Just the same we all had a great time!
Hi Linda, Thanks for staying at Oak Point! So glad to hear you enjoined it! Being a rural lake without trash pick up service is a bit of a bummer but that is why we refer our guests to the cleaning service we use to remove the trash for you. I'll make a point of highlighting that option in the lease agreement so the contact info is easier found. Thanks again, Jenny Lynn Tennessee Lakefront Cottages
The area was nice and the house worked out okay, was not told that one bedroom would be in garage but it worked out, overall the house was nice and the docked worked for 3 boats the 4th was an issues. The carpet in the living room had some bad spots that needed to be cleaned but the rest of the house was very nice launching the boats where an issue had to ask next door if we could move their trailer to be able to get the boats down the ramp We believe that we will probably return next year just need to determine date. Thank you Jim
The property location is stunning! Lake views all around. We made good use of the canoe and the fire pit. The house is well appointed with things you would need. We had a couple of issues to report to the owner which were addressed promptly. We enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend it to others. Thank you!
This was a great place for a group. Plenty of bedrooms and places to sleep. There are plenty of outdoor areas and things to keep you busy. The backyard/peninsula is gorgeous.
Overall a very nice place. Plenty of room and very clean. Any items you would need are provided. The property is huge with beautiful scenery and somewhat secluded. Our favorite spot was the dock area. The covered dock had plenty of room with chairs, table and swing. The owner rented us his pontoon boat which was a great asset. The 8 of us all agreed we would come back. We did have a few minor problems with the oven and trash pick up but those were minor.
Great for the entire family
So thankful Jennifer with TLC recommended this property to us! It was perfect for our large family. Grandparents and grand kids alike enjoined it!
